Sunglasses for Dogs - Protect Those Senior Dog Eyes
Dogs age quicker than we do and we sometimes forget that their eyes can feel the pain of bright sun and reflective sun just as we do. They can also develop cataracts quicker too.
Wearing some eye protection can help stop eye strain and squinting from reflective light such as a bright sunny winter's day or a day at the beach or if you walk a lot on concrete or even sidewalks in the middle of the day. If you feel the strain and scratchiness when you don't wear your eye protection then chances are so does your dog.
If you think this is silly, look around, you are seeing more and more senior dogs wearing them, as well as younger dogs that get them to match their owners for trendiness. But at least you can protect their eyes from the UV rays too!
They are an affordable piece of protection that your dog will quickly get used to. Comfortable elastic keeps them on straight. These are UV protection as well as wind, rain and debris and anti fog all for under 10 bucks.
A pretty affordable way to keep those senior dog eyes comfortable.
One of the tricks to keeping your older dog happy in his or her old age is to be in tune with their needs. If you catch an issue in the early stages and find a way to deal with it, then pain is limited and life is happier. If you notice trouble getting into the car or van, don't leave him at home, get a portable ramp. If you notice he simply can't walk as far, or run beside your bike, then get a bike trailer and still take him with you.
Just like us humans as we age we need to adapt, not stop doing things or depression will set in, and this can happen to older dogs. Try to stay in touch with his or her actions and you can get a good idea of what is bothering them. If the bright sun really causes your dog to squint, then maybe it is time for some doggy sunglasses.
Many dog owners look at this as UV protection and a fashion statement!
